Reverse Video Search: Find Any Video's Source

How it works

Paste a TikTok or YouTube link, or drop the clip.

The video opens in your browser. It is never uploaded to us; only the stills you choose to search are sent.

Then keep the frames that show something.

Up to 20 stills are pulled across the clip. Dark frames and repeats of the same shot are skipped for you, so each search covers different moments.

See where it was posted, and when.

Every page that shows your frames, grouped by platform, with the earliest dated upload on top.

Quick or Deep

Quick Search: three frames, the top three pages.

Once a day after you sign in with Google. The rest of the matches are counted, and you see which platforms they are on and the year of the oldest dated copy.

Deep Search: every frame you keep, every page.

Up to 20 frames in one pass, all matching pages grouped by platform, and the earliest dated upload marked with its full date. 15 searches for $9.99, paid once.

Or check one frame by hand.

Every frame can be copied or downloaded and pasted into Google Lens, Bing, Yandex or TinEye. No sign-in needed.

Six seconds, ten frames

This skate clip is dated 2012 on Wikimedia Commons. Dropped in, it becomes ten stills in about a second, and the fade-out frame is set aside. Searching the nine kept frames found a YouTube Short of the same jump, posted on 26 October 2026 by a sports-clips channel: a repost, fourteen years later. The Commons copy itself did not come up, because not every page is in Google’s index.

Questions

An 8 mm film reel resting against its canister

How do I find where a video is from? Upload the clip, paste a TikTok or YouTube link, or drop a screenshot. Video Reverse Search pulls keyframes in your browser and matches them against pages indexed on the web, then lists every page that shows the same frames, grouped by platform.

How many free searches do I get? One Quick Search per day after you sign in with Google: 3 frames, top 3 matching pages. Copying a frame into Google Lens, Bing, Yandex or TinEye yourself has no limit, because it runs in your browser.

What does Deep Search find that Quick Search does not? Deep Search matches up to 20 frames instead of 3, shows every matching page instead of the top 3, groups matches by platform and flags the earliest dated upload it can verify. It costs 1 credit: 15 for $9.99 or 50 for $24.99.

Do you store my video? No. The video is decoded in your browser and never uploaded. For a search we send up to 20 compressed frames to Google Cloud Vision and discard them; we keep only a fingerprint of each frame and the list of matching links for 30 days so you can reopen results.

Do you download videos from TikTok or YouTube? No. For a link we load only the public cover image through the platform’s official oEmbed endpoint. We do not download, re-host or remove watermarks from any video.

How is the earliest upload found? TikTok and X post IDs contain the time the post was created, and YouTube publish dates come from the official YouTube Data API. Deep Search compares those dates across all matches and flags the oldest one. Pages without a verifiable date are listed but not dated.

Can it find a person from their face? No. Video Reverse Search matches whole frames to pages that show the same image. It does not identify people, and using it to track or harass anyone breaks our terms.

Can I get a refund? A pack with no searches used can be refunded in full within 7 days. Once a search has run, the pack is not refundable, including searches that find no matches. A search that fails on our side does not use a credit.
